Freaking Amazing!!
I have peripheral polyneuropathy, a degenerative disorder that causes numbness AND excruciating pain in my feet and lower legs. It is difficult to explain to someone who has not experienced it. Think of feeling like you have thick socks on preventing you from feeling things, while at the same time you have electric, zinging pains feeling as if you are being shocked or stuck with needles. After being on my feet for as little as 30 minutes, I normally have excruciating pain for 1-6 hours afterward, frequently requiring a narcotic, as well as a hefty dose of Lyrica several times a day. I have been searching for the last 2 or 3 years for the perfect pair of shoes, and I think I may have found them at last!
I am a nurse practitioner, and I work anywhere from 8 to 24 hours at a time, with a lot of walking and standing in our busy, 56 bed neonatal unit. Halfway through the night, I'm having to take off my shoes and socks because the mere touch of them against my feet is more than I can bear. And then, several hours more after I get home before I can get comfortable and go to sleep. I have tried Z-coil, Crocs, Born...I just haven't found one I like.
Then, a friend got a pair of these MBTs (in another style), and let me try them on the other day. IT WAS AMAZING. They totally change the impact of the shoe against the foot, with more of it coming at the arch, and less on my tender toes and heels. So, less toe and heel pain, and greater arch support. Genius!!!
Just incidentally, my husband washed my Crocs in really hot water, and they shrank. He forgot to tell me this before I left for my 16 hour shift last week. Just the slight increase in pressure on my feet made that shift horrible for me. And the next morning, I discovered these shoes. I went home, ordered a pair c overnight delivery so I would have them in time for yesterdays shift. My feet haven't felt this good after a night like that in so long I cannot remember. I have taken nothing extra for pain in over 12 hours!! Hallelujah!!
I would imagine these will benefit many conditions--diabetic neuropathy, plantar fascitis, polyneuropathy, among others. Considering the benefits, the cost is more than reasonable. Anything that enables me to care for my patients in comfort is BRILLIANT!!!
Incidentally, I chose this particular style for the "cute" factor--It looks good with my scrubs at work, and I can still wear it with slacks or a long skirt. Yowza!!

Great for posture
I bought this through a regular store after reading that the nylon ones fall apart. This shoe has held up and is great for helping me stand up straight. It is a stiff material, a bit hot after wearing for long periods of time and the material does not "breath".

These are the shoes for plantar fasciatis
For years I've become more and more sedentary because my heels hurt SO MUCH due to plantar fasciatis.

With these shoes (I have 2 pairs of MBTs) I can be on my feet for 10 hours straight and not feel a bit of strain. This is on the level of a miracle cure! It's amazing to me that these shoes were never prescribed or suggested to me by the foot surgeons/physical therapists i've been to.

I do find them hot, as did the last reviewer. But small matter compared to the new lease on life (or being on my feet, anyway!)

All right shoes
So I'm not really sure if they really tone you but as far as posture goes I can tell that it does help. Super comfy! I can walk longer and not get tired. Buy them half size bigger as recommended. I love these shoes and plan on buying more MBTs in the future.

My legs were sore after the first day!
These shoes are great. I put them on the day I received them and have been using them on a daily basis since. I haven't been to the gym like I should since it's summer and we've been in "vacation" mode. However, I wear these every day and although my legs aren't like my old "runner's legs," they are toned. I don't feel the nasty jiggle I was feeling before.

I don't know if I've lost any inches, or cellulite like some claim to have lost, but, I do feel better when I wear them. They make me want to walk more.

There is a bit of a learning curve when you first wear them, but you will adapt quickly. I've learned that while I'm in the kitchen cooking, or anywhere I have to just stand around and wait, I can actually do little calf raises. So, you can even get a workout when standing in place.

My MBT Experience
The shoes are amazing and I can feel them working the glutes as well as the backs of my thighs and legs. As far as the vendor,they were incredible. I opted for the longer shipping time but received them the very next day at no cost! I would recommend the vendor, Shoe Parlor, and would use them again.

MBTs...
Purchase a half size larger. If you have a really wide foot, beware there is not a lot of give in the toe box. I have not done a lot of exercising in the shoes yet but so far am happy with fit and comfort. I purchaed for toning benefits, not medicinal purposes but have heard great thing from friends about the relief on knees, back, etc.

Good nursing shoes -- your calves will thank you.
I'm a nurse, I work 12 hour shifts on my feet almost the entire time. I used to wear Danskos and now I'm wearing these at work. I like these better. They're more comfortable forsure. I don't feel a whole lot of the "toning and firming" action at work because it's more "stepping around" than walking long straight distances. But when I walk down the street or hallway in them, I can definitely feel it -- mostly in my calves. I don't have a ton of time to work out after work, so I'm kind of killing two birds with one stone.
The only reason I gave the shoes a 4/5 is because they're pretty ugly. Look at them. If they didn't have the physiologic advantage, you wouldn't even look at them. There's probably not a way to make them look nicer, so I'll just like them for what they are.
And make sure you order about a half size bigger than you normally wear.

Quite a workout!
I received my MBTs today and decided to take them out for a trial. I have been walking about three miles everyday and thought I was up to the challenge. I hadn't even made it past the first mile when I could feel the burn in my calves. I walked about two miles total and now I see why they suggest you should only wear them for a limited time until you get used to the change. If you are looking for a good workout for legs and rear, this is the shoe for you! This will help to shorten my workout time and still get the results that I want.

Back pain? GONE!
I've been wearing these shoes for 2 1/2 years. I bought them because I hoped it would help me with my daily back pain (I was taking antiinflamatories on a daily basis). Let me also tell you that I'm active. I'm used to aerobic exercise, and I'm fit. Running is my passion and I didn't want to give it up. It was like this, I would wake up pain free, would run on the treadmil and stretch, run some errands and there she was the back pain. Then she'll visit with me till the end of the day. Of course it kept getting worse, till the point I would get out of bed pain free and after walking around the house a little bit there she was the back pain waiting on me to keep me company for the rest of the day.
I was researching on the internet when I bumped into these shoes. Actually I was looking for some Birkenstocks when I found MBTs. I was so desperate to come up with a solution for my back pain that I made my husband drive me to Texas, about 70 miles far from where I live, to Frisco so that I could get them that very same day. I didn't want having to wait for the MTBs being shipped and stuff.

They advise you to get started little by little and there is a DVD and a pamphlet that cames along with instructions. Anyway, I put MBTs on and got out of the store, did grocery shopping and the relief was so big I wore the shoes for the rest of the day. Next day I put them on when I woke up (literally) and ever since I've wore it for 2 years straight. Sandals in the summer and sneakers in the winter. I like the sandals best. No more pain, no more pills. Although I am fit, my legs got a little bit tired during the first week or so because you start using muscles that might have never been requested before. In the past 6 months I haven't been wearing them as often, I just walk on them when I exercise on the treadmil (running on them is pretty tough, it's like running on very soft sand) and I also make sure I have them on when cleanning the house and traveling. These sandals are just perfect for traveling. I'm brazilian married to an american, so I visit my country often and a 10 hour flight can get your feet pretty swollen. Studies show that you still maintain your good posture for 2 or 3 days when not wearing the MBTs.

Bottom line, they took my back pain away for good. I was told they might loose their cushioning after a year but no. Good quality shoes, I'm still wearing the first pair of sandals and sneakers I bought. As far as muscular improvement I havent' noticed much since I was already fit when I started wearing them. I've seen websites that would advertise the fact that these shoes improve your celulite and things like that. MBT Company is very serious and doesn't mention anything like that. I know that some fancy spas do sell them. MBTs are bulky and heavier than normal shoes but nevertheless very comfortable.
When you find something that takes your pain away like I found relief in these pair of shoes, you stick with it.

Wish they'd go back to making these
This was the first mbt style I tried. They were already being discontinued when I bought them. Took me no time at all to get used to them. I've had 2 lower-back surgeries and wound up wearing these every day. I got them in the red and the light blue, as well as the kisumu sandals, which are equally comfortable and still holding up. Like walking on clouds. And they fit true to size. They're supposed to be unstable front to back, as rocking back & forth is where the "workout" comes in. Very stable side-to-side, so no knee problems. (Wish I could say that about the newer chapas. Killed my knees. And the pain went away after I stopped wearing the goretex chapas, for which I paid $270; so I know it was from that.) MBT should go back to making shoes of this quality. The few recent styles I've tried haven't been as good. And I know the company changed hands around 2007, which is probably why.

yes they are unusual looking but they feel good!
Ok the MBT shoe is freaky looking. I admit it. But *wow* what an amazing shoe!

I have 3 problems when I walk:
1) shin splints
2) lower back
3) super klutz I fall, trip etc.

I have had my MBT shoes for a month now. I walk about 3 miles 3 times a week with the MBT shoes. With the MBT shoes I no longer have had problems with my shin splints. When I walk, my lower back hasn't hurt, and although there is no heel I haven't fallen once - yet. At first it was weird to have that rocking sensation but I don't even notice it anymore.

I have definitely noticed that my calf muscles and leg muscles have been worked I can feel it! so don't wear them a lot in the beginning esp if you are out of shape or haven't used those muscles.

The MBT's are super comfortable. They are super cushy and feel great. I really love mine.

However there are a few things to consider when you buy them - you need to buy a larger size. I normally wear a 36/37 and I bought a 37 2/3. Also they are very expensive so they are an investment. But I do think they are worth it. I haven't met anyone else who owns them so I don't know what other people think but I am really happy to have bought them.

Comfortable orthopedic workout sandals
I bought these sandals because I have issues with my feet, knees, lower back, and hips. These are very comfortable to walk in while giving a good workout and correcting the way we walk. I would buy another pair and recommend them highly.

Great shoes
I am so glad I found MBT shoes. I do not have full flexation of my ankle due to an injury and had almost given up on walking correctly. With MBT I can once again go shopping with my daughters without limping. These sandals are great and although they look clunky they are very comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone who has a limp due to an injury.

Wonderful!
I discovered this brand 2 years ago and they have given me the opportunity to walk normally! Over the years I've fractured both ankles and have very limited range of motion in one them. These shoes allow me to walk without a limp! I also have other foot problems that were preventing me from standing for any length of time. The MBT's provide the support and cushioning that keep my feet from hurting. I've tried lots of other shoes made by MBT, but only this style of sandels works for my feet! They are truly wonderful shoes!

Break in your shoes! Gently!
I had to respond to the person who wrote a 2 star review because the shoes gave her blisters. Um, break in your shoes gently. This goes for any shoe.

I own these MBT's and I own two other pairs of MBTs. They are fantastic shoes, but they do need some gentle breaking in. They are made differently than other shoes and they will take a little getting used to. You'll need to wear them inside for a few days, here and there, to get used to the motion and get your muscles used to the shoes. They work your leg muscles differently than normal, so take it slow. Your feet won't sit the same way in these shoes as your other shoes. If you wear them every day, you'll be broken in within a week and won't have to worry about it any more.

So buy the MBTs if you like what they stand for, and break them in slowly. Soon you might not ever buy another brand of shoe. I now wear only my MBT's, my running shoes, and one pair of crocs around the house when I'm not going barefoot.

MBTs are great shoes and they will last you many years.

Very dressy looking for an MBT
I just received these today, did not buy thru Amazon but another online merchant. I visited an MBT retailer yesterday and tried on MBTs for the first time, they felt great. However they did not have the EMA in stock and I needed it for a cruise. I ordered 39.75 size as I wear a size 9 and they fit perfectly. I have narrow feet but I can wear these without socks or with thin socks. The manufacturer's web photo currently shows these with a toe thong, but the ones I received today did not have that. The EMA is very stylish, the sole appears a bit thinner than the old models, therefore I would feel comfortable wearing this as a dress shoe. Still getting used to the rocking horse motion, but based on all the reviews I have read, this shoe should be great for my lower back pain, and my chronic foot pain following multiple foot surgeries.

great shoe... but shop around
The "Ema" MBT sandal is fantastic ... comfortable and good looking. But I was really upset to find the same shoe on sale last week for $107 less than I paid. (Herrington catolog) If I hadn't worn them the day they arrived, I would have sent them back. Shop around.

Best help to lift those BUNS
The shoe itself, very sweet looking. You would think being so healthy and supportive it would look ugly. To my surprise I loved them the min I got them and I have to say: they are sooo comfortable! I can see and feel the difference in body. Do get them half a size bigger since they do run small.
I'm normally a size 7 US, I got them in 7.5 US. They fit perfect.

I love these shoes
I bought these shoes yesterday, in dark blue denim. I have been wearing them around the house and the difference in my posture is noticeable. My husband and daughter immediately remarked that I was walking straighter. They are very comfortable and fun to wear. When I took them off and put on a pair of garden clogs, my feet felt heavy and awkward, so I threw them back on. I don't think that MBT are the best looking shoes, but they are extremely comfortable and fun to wear. I am looking forward to buying a second pair of winter ones when the season comes.

These MBT Kilima hiking boots were my first MBTs but they will certainly NOT the last. Yes, MBTs are a little more pricey than your average shoe, but MBTs are worth every penny plus some. If you have any lower back pain, knee, hip or foot pain when walking the MBT IS the shoe for you. Even if you don't have pain in these areas the MBT improves you posture, tones your legs, thighs and buttocks just by walking in them. The only problem I've encountered with these shoes was that I had to eventually take them off. Now I have to find another pair for the Spring and Summer months. If you are thinking about buying a pair of MBT in any style, just do it. You will see the difference from day one!!!!

I love these!
I bought these about six months ago and LOVE THEM LOVE THEM LOVE THEM. I wish all of my shoes would have the same benefit as these do. They are so so comfortable and durable and I can feel how straight my posture is when I wear them. The only negative thing I have to say about these is that these are walkers, not trainers. So, I can't really benefit from them when working out. And, I do not do a LOT of walking for exercise and I don't always want to wear walking shoes out and about. . . I'm kind of a regular shoe person. But, I do wear these as much as I can.

However, when trying to find out if there were new trainer MBTs on the market, I came across Earth Shoes (no, not the WalMart "earth shoes") and recently bought a pair of Earth Shoe Trainers. They also have the negative heel technology (although you MUST order at LEAST a half size larger than you usually wear). I get the same benefit in these when I train! I love these, too. And, they cost a lot less than the MBTs.

MBT are well worth the $
I love thess shoes and did 6 months of research until buying some. Now I can't take them off and don't really want to wear anything else!! They instantly pull your tunmmy in making you use your core muscles, upper legs and behind to stride not your smaller muscles. After just 5 hrs with them on I noticed a big diffrence! I will be buying more I think for the price they are worth it, I'd probably spend less more going to Dr visits from migrains, and back aches. I'd give then 10 stars if I could!

MBT walkers
My thighs are sore but not as if I just ran 3 miles. It's a good kind of sore; the kind you can tolerate after a long walk. I've only been wearing my MBTs for 2 weeks now so I haven't noticed any changes yet. I live in a hilly area and I bike 15 miles to and from work everyday so I admit that at first I was skeptical that these shoes would do anything for me. They are proving me wrong. My friends have all commented on how my posture has improved and how my walk seems to be straighter(I usually walk with my feet turned out just a bit) My knees don't hurt as much and my normal shoes just feel aggrivating now. I love my MBTs. I wear them everyday but I think I'll wait a few weeks to see if I'll invest in another pair. I do like the sandals, though. I think I may have to buy a pair.

I bought these shoes because I thought they would be good for someone who stands a lot and they did serve that purpose well. However, they are heavy enough to make walking a little awkward. Also, the leather scuffs very, very easily and discolor around the top edge. Shoe polish fixes them up but if you want a nice looking pair of shoes plan on polishing frequently.

If you have a dog or just like to walk on/off road no matter what the weather, this is the shoe for you. My feet have stayed dry and warm no matter where I have walked or how long I've stayed outside. My only negatives would be that these soles are NOT great on icey surfaces or on rocky trails.

Size up, but you'll love them!
These shoes are fantastic. I own several pairs of MBTs, but the orange ones are my favorites - so bright and fun for summer. I usually wear a wide width, and found these very roomy width-wise, but the toe box is very, very short. So, even though I thought I was familiar with MBT's sizing, I had to return my first pair and order a FULL SIZE larger than my regular shoe size. You are probably thinking this is an outrageous price to pay for a pair of sneakers, and it is, but they really will do wonderful things for your lower back, knees and posture. Perfect for people who have to stand all day, or walk for hours on concrete.

These shoes are pretty amazing! I've owned them about a month now- waited to post my review until I REALLY knew- you're welcome! I got a little sore wearing them only a few hours the first day and thought "hmmm..." So I started wearing them all day everyday and I've actually lost a few lbs!

The only minor complaint I have is that the strap gets a little tight and uncomfortable with the inevitable foot swelling that we all get by mid-afternoon. Just keep in mind that you'll be adjusting the straps a few times throughout the day. No biggie.

Great sandals!!
I've used MBT Shoes for over a year and I am very pleased with them. My posture changed, I can walk long distances without having any pain, so I exercise a lot more than I did before. However when the spring came, it was impossible to use them because of the hot weather (I live in Mexico). These sandals were just perfect... The free shipping, though had to be to the States, was great!! I hope the free shipping could extend to other neighboring countries.

Very well made shoe with an interesting concept. I have definitely been able to feel the muscle stretching/strengthening component. Due to my work, I have been unable to wear them enough yet to give my best opinion. I expect them to rate about 4 out 5 stars. The only question I am having is if they will live up to all the advertising.

Best Boots....Ever!!!
These are truly awesome boots, the most comfortable I've ever owned. I have two pairs of them that I alternate between (the other is the brown model). I have several other pairs of MBT shoes as well but these Moto boots are the best of the best in my opinion. A lot of that has to do with the gentle but firm ankle support they give me which regular shoes don't have. But be that as it may, I wouldn't trade them for anything else I've ever experienced.

As Crazy as it sounds
After reading the pitch I bought these boots. Not that I believed they could cure cancer but because I wanted work boots that wouldnt encourage flatfooted work. I am blown away by the feel as I walk and even when I just stand up. I dont know that I get the exercise results but I do know it feels great. And you dont look like you are wearing oddball shoes

MBT boot review
Was skeptical about making a purchase from the USA via the internet in Australia. Shoes arrived in 5 days stright. Much cheaper than purchase price in Australia. Shoes have all but healed the pain i was suffering from a heel spur. Extra rubber grip on soles is not wearing at anywhere near the rate the original MBT shoes i had wore out at. Highly recommended, i will be purchasing another pair as spares for when these eventually wear out.

I called the company and asked for a half size larger and they issued a RMA number. I sent the shoes back and within 10 days I had my new pair and they fit great. I started having pain in my arches and heels at the end of the day from just regular activities. I purchased MBT walkings shoes, marveled at having no pain but felt I couldn't wear sneakers for all occasions. I was not too thrilled with the colors or the price of the shoes, but that is why I chose these since these shoes were on sale (I didn't want to waste any more money than needed). I have flat feet and I have the worst time trying to find shoes that are comfortable or having to add a bunch of inserts. All I can say is the shoes are awesome, they feel great on my feet. No sore knees or sore feet, the shoes fit great and I don't have to add inserts. When the advertisement says the shoes exercise your legs and back thats no lie. I really feel it when I go walking. The shoes are great I want to buy a second pair that are black and dressier.

I love MBT shoes. I just started wearing them and noticed immediate differences in the way my knees, hips, and lower back felt. The Lami sneaker does run small. I have a short fat foot, but I typically wear a size 7 in everything (unless the shoe is very narrow). With these I read the reviews and ordered a half size up and they are just perfect. So comfortable and everyone notices them and asks what they are. I LOVE the rocking motion and the fact they work my legs. I won't wear anything other than MBTs... get the discontuined models to save big $$$.

I've been wearing these shoes for 2 1/2 years. I bought them because I hoped it would help me with my daily back pain (I was taking antiinflamatories on a daily basis). Let me also tell you that I'm active. I'm used to aerobic exercise, and I'm fit. Running is my passion and I didn't want to give it up. It was like this, I would wake up pain free, would run on the treadmil and stretch, run some errands and there she was the back pain. Then she'll visit with me till the end of the day. Of course it kept getting worse, till the point I would get out of bed pain free and after walking around the house a little bit there she was the back pain waiting on me to keep me company for the rest of the day.
I was researching on the internet when I bumped into these shoes. Actually I was looking for some Birkenstocks when I found MBTs. I was so desperate to come up with a solution for my back pain that I made my husband drive me to Texas, about 70 miles far from where I live, to Frisco so that I could get them that very same day. I didn't want having to wait for the MTBs being shipped and stuff.

They advise you to get started little by little and there is a DVD and a pamphlet that cames along with instructions. Anyway, I put MBTs on and got out of the store, did grocery shopping and the relief was so big I wore the shoes for the rest of the day. Next day I put them on when I woke up (literally) and ever since I've wore it for 2 years straight. Sandals in the summer and sneakers in the winter. I like the sandals best. No more pain, no more pills. Although I am fit, my legs got a little bit tired during the first week or so because you start using muscles that might have never been requested before. In the past 6 months I haven't been wearing them as often, I just walk on them when I exercise on the treadmil (running on them is pretty tough, it's like running on very soft sand) and I also make sure I have them on when cleanning the house and traveling. These sandals are just perfect for traveling. I'm brazilian married to an american, so I visit my country often and a 10 hour flight can get your feet pretty swollen. Studies show that you still maintain your good posture for 2 or 3 days when not wearing the MBTs.

Bottom line, they took my back pain away for good. I was told they might loose their cushioning after a year but no. Good quality shoes, I'm still wearing the first pair of sandals and sneakers I bought. As far as muscular improvement I havent' noticed much since I was already fit when I started wearing them. I've seen websites that would advertise the fact that these shoes improve your celulite and things like that. MBT Company is very serious and doesn't mention anything like that. I know that some fancy spas do sell them. MBTs are bulky and heavier than normal shoes but nevertheless very comfortable.
When you find something that takes your pain away like I found relief in these pair of shoes, you stick with it.

calf workout--good stuff

I really like my MBT's. They run pretty close to size and ordered up because of the recommendation...big mistake. They are a little too big, but I wear socks with them and they're fine, now. The first time I wore them I developed a blister on my ankle because they were rubbing against it. After this incident, I've had no other problems and they are working out just fine. My legs certainly felt like I had a workout. I'm a runner and going through PT for ITBand Syndrome. It really helps me pay attention to my foot plant. I really like these shoes!
